Get it done

image

Get it done is a commercial web application for GTD task management. It is mainly professional oriented but it can be used for personal systems as well and it can be as simple or complicated as the user requires.

The user interface is fast and well designed, but due to the big number of its elements needs a little exploration from the user at first.
The whole system is primarily divided into areas of focus, and its area has its own elements helping users to organize every aspect of their lives separately.

Killer features:

  • Multiple workspaces
  • Dragging and dropping actions to any element of the sidebar
  • People section making delegation really easy
  • File attachments
  • Many section exporting options
  • Good and complete on line help

GTD mode:

  • Tags, projects, areas of responsibilities, people and actions

Weaknesses:

  • Some originalities of the user interface may take a while to get used to
  • No predefined tag/context lists. User should manually create smart groups for them
  • No direct next action setting from the action editor. Actions must be dropped to the Next actions element on the sidebar
  • There should be more options for users to tweak

Supported elements: Projects, tags as contexts, due dates, people, trash, smart groups, next actions, inbox, someday, search, printing.

Supported services: Google calendar integration, export to csv or email, email importing and reminders.

Mobile access: Android, iPhone and iPad application.

Cost: 15 days trial / $39 per year

Conclusion : Get it done definitely looks like a professional GTD application should be. It’s well built, fast and able to track every aspect of a busy life. Of course there are aspects of the application which could be optimized but the developer team’s presence is all over the site enjoying getting feedback and suggestions from users.

I would suggest a more modern design!
