Gtdify

Gtdify is a pure GTD web application based on the Tracks platform. It covers a lot of GTD aspects and it claims to be your trusted system.

The application has a fairly good design using big fonts and it’s easy to find your way around it. Upon logging in you will be presented with a homepage which is a list with all of your next actions by context and a big counter of the at the top left of the screen.

There is a really useful sidebar at the right side from which you can create actions on the fly and view the most important parts of your system.

The main menu bar is very basic, you can lose the popup menus sometimes because they disappear if you move your cursor too fast, and it contains all the screens and functions available.

In terms of speed, you may find it a bit slow comparing to other task managers, but it loads much faster and you can get used to work by its rhythm. Apart from that, you can benefit from the big number of feeds Gtdify offers and a statistics screen completely free.

Killer features:

  • Many feeds in classic, ical and text format
  • Repeating todos view
  • Nice project views including deferred and completed projects
  • Statistics

Weaknesses:

  • User interface needs some polishing, especially form fields
  • A bit slow

Supported elements: Contexts, Projects and tags, actions, starred and recurring actions, tickler/due dates, notes.

Supported services: Feeds rss/ical, statistics, export to csv and XML, iGoogle and Gmail gadget, Tracks API

Mobile access: Mobile site at http://my.gtdify.com/mobile

Cost: Free

Conclusion : Gtdify is a very good task manager and it comes with many features not found in others. Keeping in mind that we are talking about a small and free service, I think the developer has done a great job and has a lot of potential. Before starting to use the service, make sure you read the service’s blog at http://www.gtdify.com/about/ since it’s the only documentation available at this point.
