Catch notes is a note keeping web application and while it’s not so famous as other applications of this kind, I found it to be quite interesting in terms of functionality and features.
Catch notes is mainly a web application having a relatively plain and simple user interface.
Users can create simple notes and other things as well, like photos, recordings, file attachments, tasks and reminders, as the most sophisticated note taking applications do.
Features
The structure of the user’s account is simple. You can create spaces (up to 5 with a free account) ,which will hold your notes and attachments. Each note can have attachments, comments or tasks. A great feature of Catch notes, is the ability to easily add tags to your notes by simply entering #any_tag_name straight into a note’s text. The tags are recognized and the notes can be searched or filtered by their names.
You can also can have some notes of interest marked as important by toggling a star, and reminders for your notes, a feature long requested by Evernote users.
As far as my testing with the application went, I found all the standard features of a note taking application, and its mobile version for Android which I tested is very well designed and reliable.
There is also the ability to share your notes with others and also export them in CSV and HTML format.
Conclusion
In general Catch notes is a decent note keeper with some clever features that could make a difference to some users.
Closing this post, I wish the application’s tag list would be more visible at the main screen and not only during a search, because I think the tagging systems is one of the application’s strongest points.
Catch notes is free for up to 5 spaces (there are ways to get some more free as well as premium subscriptions) and available for iPhone and Android as a mobile application.
