Nirvana is a web application which is based on the GTD methodology. It is currently in closed beta phase, but any user can register and try it for free.
Working with the Nirvana user interface is a relaxing and fulfilling experience!
Everything is so well designed and organized, from the sidebar elements, to the smaller popup menu, giving the user a complete and easy to use environment.
The basis of this system is pure GTD, with predefined folders for today, next actions, waiting and someday. There is also an archive for completed actions and projects and an inbox folder for collecting stuff.
There is also support for areas of responsibility, a very useful feature if you want to separate different aspects of your life as well as projects and tags which are distinctively shown on the sidebar and searching. Another nice feature, not usually found on other systems, is the definition of contacts to connect to actions of your waiting list together with their email addresses for easy sending of messages.
There isn’t yet much information about the price plans versus features supported from the company, as it is still under planning. As for supported services, there is only email import and export of actions for now.
In conclusion, Nirvana is one of the best designed web applications for task management, pushing the aesthetic and usability limits of such applications a little higher and rising our expectations.
