Todoist is a bare bones web task manager. It provides a very simple user interface and the absolutely necessary functions you can find in most applications of this category. Though it has some good features, like color projects and reordering, it lacks of basic functionality like reminders and full text search which are available only for premium users. Nevertheless the user interface is clean and light making the application really quick, which combined with the use of shortcut keys, results in a really fast user experience.
Killer features:
- Actions and project reorder
- Colored projects
- Clean list and week printouts
- Special formatting characters in task syntax
Weaknesses:
- Basic functionality provided only for premium users (reminders, full text search)
- Besides tag, priority and due dates there are no other fields for tasks
- Labels are a good addition but there aren’t listed anywhere
- Recurring tasks are available only by entering the natural language syntax
- Cannot edit tasks in mobile version of website
- No import of tasks (at least through email)
GTD mode: Projects and labels as contexts. Priorities as Next Actions.
